How is it different from the routine knee or hip replacements?

The routine or conventional knee replacements are done based on the X-rays of the joints (knee, Hip as the case maybe) and they are 2D in nature. The surgeon plans the surgery based on the X ray and his experience, there is no support of technology to guide him better to understand the patient’s knee deformities.

How is it different from the Robotic knee or hip replacements?

Robotic knee replacements are also very precise but they can perform the surgery using a ‘single company’s implant’ ie the company which the Robot belongs to. The surgeon has lots of limitation as he has limited or no choice of implants and he has to somehow fit the company’s implant or prosthesis in the patient’s joints. The surgery is time consuming and is also very expensive.
